Claire Garoutte is Director of Education for the Photographic Center Northwest,
and is considered one of the foremost photojournalists of the West Coast. Her travels
to Cuba over many years are documented in an upcoming book on Afro-Cuban
religion, co-written and illustrated by Anneke Wambaugh. Pictured here is a sampling
of street images from her vast collection of photographic imagery. We look forward to
seeing her new publication and to reviewing it for our readers.
